Documentary on Radical Islam
I can't stress enough how much you need to watch the following video on radical Islam. It runs about an hour and twenty minutes, and some of the footage is extremely graphic:

It's a film called Obsession: Radical Islam's War against the West, and its official website can be found here.
The thesis of the film is that radical Islam is in fact a unified ideology stemming from Nazism. Note, I did not say comparable to Nazism. Rather, the film very convincingly argues that radical Islam has consciously appropriated Nazi propaganda and tactics, and the film supplies historical evidence linking Hitler with a mid-twentieth century Islamic leader (linked with the Palestinian region). Apparently, Nazis even had a military division of Bosnian Muslims. The argument follows that Nazism survived in its Islamic factions and spread through the poverty-stricken region of Palestine.
Most disturbing, however, was the repeated images of radical Islamic propaganda in the media, and the argument that it has been essentially brainwashing Islamic youth. I have no shame in saying that I started to cry about two-thirds through the video when it showed an interview with a three and a half year old girl who, upon prompting, said she hated Jews because they are apes and pigs and wants them to die because God said so. It was like listening to my three-year-old niece spout off hate speech as she might the lyrics to a children's song.
The film itself is very clear that it is addressing the issue of radical Islam, not Islam itself. Indeed, many of the people interviewed in it are moderate Muslims who are equally horrified at radicalism. They are also disturbed by so much of the West's choice to ignore the problem.
It is a sobering and jarring film, and I think all Americans, all Westerners, ought to see it to come to a better understanding of just how high the stakes are in this current conflict.
