In the Catholic Church there is another perfection, namely that because of the living authority of the Church given by our Lord, we can be more sure of the teaching of the Church than we can be of our feelings, which are inconstant and ephemeral, and indeed even more sure than we could be of private revelations or visions.

In point of fact, because God has not only given you His Church but the witness of countless saints, miracles, and wonders besides, if you are waiting for a special "proof" from God, you are waiting for a ship that has come in long ago and been waiting for you.
