Rachmaninov on, dude!
Article asks whether new music in classical style could become the new rock 'n' roll. (Via Cacciaguida)
(Classical music is really quality music, btw, but it hit a rocky stretch and became unpopular beginning in the early to mid 1900s because of an infatuation with modernistic "classical" music among the musical elites. If you know what "aleatory" and "atonal" music are, then you know what I'm talking about. If not, then I assure you that I don't dislike it merely because it's new (it's actually something of a museum piece by now), but because it's the sort of thing that when used judiciously can be rather interesting in small doses to people with a developed taste for classical music, but used extensively is musically unsatisfying and even downright ugly.)
